Where To Eat Guide
In Devon you're never short of places to enjoy good food, and we've put together a small list of interesting eateries and restuarants you may wish to check out during your stay. We've included links to those places that have websites, too.
Otterton Mill Restaurant
Situated at Otterton Mill is the Otterton Mill Restaurant. The restaurant
won the 2004 and 2005 Devon Food Awards due to their commitment to
using local products and organic produce where possible.
The menu varies depending on the time of day you eat, with a wide range
of light lunches to main courses. Also available are fresh bread and
cakes which are prepared in the Otterton Mill Bakery. The restaurant
has also appeared in Rick Stein’s ‘Local Food Heroes’ and
in the Guardian’s ‘Best of British Food Guide’ and
ends a lovely day out when combined with a visit to the Mill. Their website

Woodbury Park Golf and Country Club Restaurant
For a nice evening out, you can dine at the Country Club restaurant where
you will have a choice of meals from an A La Carte menu. The restaurant
is situated at the top of the golf course, next to Woodbury Castle,
and has a glass roof allowing you to look out at the stars whilst

The Cosy Teapot
A wonderfully traditional tearoom in the centre of Budleigh Salterton,
with fine china for your Devonshire clotted cream tea, some excellent
menu options and a tasty soup of the day. Countrylife magazine praised
it as one of the best tearooms in Devon, and it's situated just a few
minutes walk from the beach, with an open fire blazing in winter and
outside seating next to a stream in the summer. It also
has a different range of homemade cakes available every day, as well
as a breakfast and lunch menu popular with the locals. This website has

Saffron Denleys
A combination of an Indian restaurant and wine bar located in Topsham,
near Exeter. The restaurant is at the rear with seating for over 150
people and is one of the largest Indian restaurants in Devon. The combination
of wine bar and Indian restaurant works well and staff are always pleased
to advise on the perfect wine for each Indian dish.
The Puffing Billy
The Puffing Billy is situated next to the Exe Estuary and is an old railway
tavern. The menu is full of quality, fresh ingredients, something the
restaurant is keen to promote, with pictures on the wall of their local
suppliers and producers. The restaurant has a varied menu and a plain
and modern appearance with white walls and wooden floors. Their website

Olivia’s Restaurant
A relaxed but stylish restaurant located in Topsham, near Exeter which
specialises in Mediterranean food with a Latin feel, including seafood
and more traditional Mediterranean dishes such as paella. The restaurant
is a family owned restaurant throughout, with family members as the chef
and also out at the front of the restaurant serving and entertaining.
Branzino’s Italian Restaurant
Located in the neighbouring seaside town from Budleigh Salterton is Branzino’s.
The restaurant is located a few minutes walk from Exmouth beach and has
a lunch menu and evening menu comprising of typical Italian dishes, such
as pastas and pizzas and also fresh fish dishes with different
specials every day. The restaurant is modern and stylish yet popular
with the locals.
The Swan’s Nest
A large carvery restaurant situated in Exminister near Exeter which specialises
in fresh and reasonably priced roast dinners. There is also a large salad
bar with nearly 40 different foods and salads available with a wide range
of desserts to choose from if you have room after dinner. The Swan’s
Nest is a popular restaurant so booking is advisable. You can find details

La Petite Maison
A small but friendly award winning restaurant of the South West Tourism
Award Restaurant of the Year 2003. The restaurant is based in Topsham
and only has a 20 person capacity so booking is essential. The menu
consists of two or three courses and is described as modern British

The Bamboo
A Chinese restaurant located in Exmouth which has recently been refurbished.
There is a wide range of food available on the menu comprising Chinese
cuisine. It is one of the more popular Chinese restaurants in the local
area, however, you can take away your food if you prefer not to eat in.
