Cafes & Tea Rooms
Whether you're here for a strenuous activity holiday or to relax and walk some of the coastal paths, you're never short of tea rooms or cafes for a cup of tea, coffee or a delicious slice of cake. Here are some around the area. We've included links to those places that have websites, too.
Gossips
A small bistro cafe in the centre of Exmouth, with a pedestrian area to sit outside if the weather suits, and a good selection of lunchtime food, drinks and ice cream too. Their website gives you a good idea of the atmosphere and menus available, trake a look here: http://domain2239283.sites.streamlinedns.co.uk/
The Cosy Teapot
Located in the centre of Budleigh Salterton on Fore Street, opposite The Creamery ice cream parlour and right by the sea, this little team room is a delightful find. The very friendly and slightly old fashioned style of service and fine china make this tearoom a relaxing place to mingle with the local regulars, choose between soups and sandwiches for lunch or tea and cakes for afternoon tea. Definitely worth a visit, but not always open every day, so check opening times in their window to avoid disappointment.
The Quay Café
A Bronze Taste of the West Award and Good Food award holder. The café is located in the refurbished railway station at Fremington Quay on the Tarka Trail cycle route, near Barnstaple, is open all year round and provides, apart from refreshments and lunches, excellent cream teas and local wines and beers. Perhaps best is the beautiful view over the Taw estuary. Visit their website here: http://www.fremingtonquaycafe.co.uk/
Al Farid
Al Farid is a Moroccan bistro set in beautiful surroundings of the Exeter cathedral. It’s got a great atmosphere thanks to plush cushions, intricately woven carpets, candles and lamps. The tapas style menu provides tasty meals ideal for sharing and there is also an outdoors area for use in good weather. Apart from kebabs, tagines, wraps, meats and salads, there is a choice of over 15 teas and Moroccan coffee. Read impartial reviews on Trip Advisor.
Darts Farm Cafe & Deli Bar
